We have a winner!

This eleventh-hour entry by Emily, Clint, Maya, and Raj truly is the worst of more bad sentences. It’s simple, and yet somehow confusing. In addition to overusing adverbs, this sentence also includes a reference to common-law marriage, which I just decided is the clincher. (Hey, nobody said this contest was going to be fair!)

Her rose tattoos peeked out from her ample cleavage as she playfully pulled out a copy of Grilling for Dummies and winked knowingly at her common-law husband.

<trumpet sounds> Thank you to everyone who entered. The English language may never recover.

Now, how am I going to divide the prize four ways? Hrm.

(You can see all the entries here!)

This contest was a blast. Thanks for hosting! Let’s do it again, like so many rain drops on a tin roof, beating one after the other, pounding away in a dazzling cacophony.

I have suggested a timeshare of the prize. Or I shall threaten to use a sword to cleave the prize in twain and then see who truly loves it the most.

Nice! Perhaps you can each read one quarter of the story and then act your portion out to the other three with charades.
